Now that I have been practising my walk, walking in my heels (different shapes and sizes) and doing all sorts of housework in them I have become acquainted with my tender spots. The parts that are under more pressure (the balls of my feet) and those areas that have to contend with friction (my little toe and sometimes the back of my heel).
So, step 5 is one I’m sure everyone has tried before…cushioning!
There are now cushions for all areas of your shoes. They come in all shapes, sizes and materials and some are even orthopaedic! They’re designed to cushion your foot against the inner shoe, making walking and dancing a lot easier and more comfortable.
You can buy them in most supermarkets and high street shops such as Boots and Superdrug. My favourite are Scholl as they have a gel cushion for every part of your foot – the heel, balls, toes, stiletto straps and so on!
Be generous with your cushioning! I understand people are not made of money and that is why my secret love is always available from Home Bargains for half the price of high street stores!
