Bummed out fashion in Liverpool

New fashion trend hitting Liverpool hits a bum note!

It’s not often I strongly dislike a fashion trend so much that I feel the need to rant about it, but I’m so tired of going out at the weekend and seeing girls with their bums out! Yes that’s right, girls in all weathers wearing leather short shorts that actually ride up that much that they are closer to a thong than shorts.

I’m not even sure how it got started, but they’ve taken gorgeous luxe leather shorts that look stunning with killer platforms and a tailored blouse and turned them into a disgusting shorter than hot pants pair of knickers.

It’s got so bad that last weekend I was out with a friend in the early afternoon and a group of no older than 15 year olds got off the bus and one was wearing a pair of high waist denim shorts that were so short they actually crept up that much that it wasn’t just her bum that was on show! Absolutely shocking.

I’ve been that disgusted with this new trend that I haven’t even been able to bring myself to take a picture of it, but it’s everywhere. Students are wearing them on AU nights, teenagers are wearing them in the middle of the afternoon and grown women are wearing them to go clubbing in. All in the cold winter months (not that wearing them in summer would make any difference) and always without tights.

I haven’t been out in any other cities yet this year, but I’m sure it’s not a national trend – surely it can’t be…well fingers crossed.

I’d love to know if you have seen this trend anywhere else or any trend that you seriously dislike. Let me know 🙂

Bummed out in Liverpool

The only image I can find, that even comes close to the bums out look making its way around Liverpool is this one of Amy Childs. Now imagine three-quarters of bum cheek being displayed and you’ll get the picture!
