The Take Off: Removing Your Geek Chic Nails

OK so not long after putting my House of Holland nails on did I realise that I didn’t know how to take them off! I’ve never been one for instructions!

So as it turns out you need to buy some Elegant Touch Get em off remover so I nipped out and bought some – luckily for me it was super easy to find and cost just over £2 (not bad really considering I’ve bought 2 packs of HofH nails)!

It sounds kinda complicated and to be perfectly honest I was dubious to say the least about getting them off, however I followed the instructions and got together my apparatus:

Elegant Touch's 'Get em off' solution, foil and cotton wool balls

Here’s how I did it:

Step 1. Apply the ‘Get em off’ solution to a cotton wool ball – I applied lots to make sure it came off

Step 2. Next, place the cotton wool over your nail and wrap the foil tightly around to make sure it stays in place

Step 3. Sit back and relax for 20 minutes – I chose to watch a wildlife channel with a cuppa (I know, it’s a hard life)

Step 4. After 20 minutes remove the foil and cotton wool and the nail will have softened – my pattern was still on, but with a rub down of solution it came away, leaving the base of the layer

Step 5. Redo steps 1 and 2, this time leaving the solution on for 10 minutes. After this time I removed the cotton wool to find the nail had completely gone from one and after applying some solution to the other and a quick rub it came away from the second with minimal fuss

Overall this process was really easy and fairly quick.

Rating: 8/10

Although dubious at first, I loved these nails and they’re really easy to put on, I received lots of compliments and now I know they’re easy to take off I’d definitely recommend you go grab yourselves a set while you still can!
