One of my favourite skincare brands of all time has to be Elemis. A few years ago I was in an incredibly stressful job – not particularly the work, but more the male-dominated meetings, people shouting at you and so on.
As a result I wasn’t sleeping, eating properly and hated going to work each day and it showed on my face. I began to get break outs, my skin looked dull and took on a rougher complexion.
So I treated myself to a facial and it was there that I discovered Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules. You use a pink rose capsule in the morning to stimulate vitality and a green lavender capsule in the evening to help repair the skin and prepare you for a relaxing sleep.
I loved the product so much I bought it and watched my skin get back to its normal brightness. The only problem? Its incredibly expensive, especially as you only get a 30-day supply.
However, after a year of having to sacrifice this product I came across Salonskincare.co.uk a UK-based site that has huge discounts and savings on a range of products from beauty and hair to make-up and nails – they even have my beloved Elemis capsules slightly reduced!
Although an advocate of online shopping, I am weary about new companies, or at least ones that I haven’t come across before. So I sat down last Saturday afternoon with a lovely latte from my new coffee machine and decided to do a little digging.
The reviews were great, with most customers giving Salon Skincare 5/5 stars with the only negative reviews concerning couriers around certain areas of the country – for the majority they received their goods earlier than expected, which is always a bonus in my opinion!
I really found myself enjoying my virtual shopping trip around their site actually – from the clean, easily readable look to the range of products available, including Clarins, Murad, GHD, O.P.I and Thierry Mugler. They feature gift sets, incredible sales and offers that make most women’s beauty regimes just that little bit more accessible.
They even have a blog, which meant another coffee and yet another hour spent perusing through the tips and articles on how to care for your hair after sport, the importance of moisturising and so on. What I like most is that they provide hints, tips and reviews on the actual products they sell to help you get the most out of your purchase.
It was while reading through their blog page that I found out the brand is an incredible 9 years old with their original salon still in Belfast. For such an integrated brand I find it unbelievable that I haven’t heard about it or come across it sooner!
And then, of course, I thought well if I haven’t heard of it and neither have my colleague’s then there must still be a proportion of the UK not in the know and who would definitely benefit from this fantastic company.
Not one to pass up the opportunity to shop I treated myself to a couple of hair products, nail polishes (as you know from all my polish posts, I’m obsessed) and am waiting until my Birthday in just over a month to get my supply of Elemis capsules restocked and ready to rock my skin!
