OK, so it’s been a good few months since I’ve blogged about not moisturising, before Christmas I think, so it’s about time to finish up on this project.
I started using Rosehip Oil and serums in November after reading several articles about the benefits of not moisturising for your skin.
I then diarised my progress for several weeks, posting pictures of the results. After four months of not moisturising, I have now gone back to it. For no other reason than my skin was not coping well with the colder, winter weather and, as I suffer from sensitive skin and eczema, I made the decision that I needed a little added moisture.
Here’s my diary in a nutshell…there were some good and bad weeks as my skin cleansed itself and started to “self clean” as people call it.
As you can see, overall my skin cleared up, appeared brighter and a little more dewy. However, after deciding to go back to moisturising, I’ve since started to use Superdrug’s own face masks to de-stress and moisturise skin.
I use them alternatively once a week and have noticed my skin is less dry as a result. I also use an SPF moisturiser during the day to help protect my skin against the sun and am still using Rosehip Oil and Boots No.7 Protect Serum as part of my daily skincare routine and my skin feels awesome.
I’m not saying one way is better than the other, as there are some really good blogs and articles on the benefits of both, even some on how to make your own oil blends. However, for me and my skin, moisturising is best.
And I’ll let you in on a little secret…the last pic on the collage above was taken just a few minutes ago!
